Poetry Wars Project
This project was very creative. In order to complete it, you had to have written a minimum of eight poems, share them in a total of five chapbooks, and create an art piece based on one of your poems. This project also worked to get us in touch with the real world. In order to complete the project, your task was to find a (hopefully public) home for your piece of art, for at least one year. This involved calling and email strangers, to get information. The last part of the project was exhibition. There were four groups in our team. The overall goal, was for each team to create their own exhibition and host the best. This involved finding a venue, organizing food/drinks, invitations, sound and lighting, and so much more.
Chapbooks
Each student was required to create five chapbooks. Each of them were the same, but the amount was made to be handed out or read by many. A chapbook, is a small simple book that easily allows readers to flip through examples of you writing. They help the reader fully capture your poem by providing pictures, or drawings that help represent them. I personally created mine on a program called Adobe In Design. This program allowed me to make my book as professional as possible, and print multiple copies whenever I needed to. You can find the attachment below.
My art piece
My art piece, was based around my poem "Be Inspired." This poems spreads an overall sense of happiness. I chose to display this theme with an earthy feel. To get this illusion, I used recycled wood and made spray paint stencils on the laser cutter. Then, I spray painted each line of my poem on a plank of wood. In order to make the stencils, I used a program called Adobe Illustrator. You can find those attachments below.
Event planner job
My group of 15 people worked together very well. My job, was the event planner and food/drink. Skylar and I shared these jobs. As the event planners, we were in charge of finding the venue, and become the overall group leaders. I believe we were both well prepared for the job. Also, to see the progress throughout the project, and the process of the art pieces the folder of photos is at this link.

Even though I was the event planner, I made our groups video. Make sure you take a look at that, it gives you the biggest inside look on our project, and the art pieces that each of my group members made.
