Programming Page
In physics class, we made an effort to learn JavaScript. This helped us with out understanding of webpage making, and how computers run. The interesting part, is that we were learning almost an entire new language! These are some of the things we made, to strengthen our skills. These activities range from easy to more difficult, keep in mind we are still beginners. Take a look!
This picture is an example, of what the coding were doing looks like. It's pretty confusing when you look at it, but when you understand whats going on...it's really like a conversation! This code above was made by me for my "Final Deliverable" which you can see below. When you click the link, you wont see the script...but what the script makes! Enjoy.
Level 1
Level one, was starting with the basics. All we needed to do, was learn how to display the text "Hello World." This taught us about labels, and the functions to need to display what you wrote. The picture is what the code looks like, the button below will deploy the app.
Level 2
Level two, introduced us to 'click handlers.' These are buttons, that have a second action after you push them. In this level we built off the level one. Instead of just displaying the text "Hello World", you have to create a button, and click it. After the button is clicked then it will display the text. The picture is what the code looks like, the button below will deploy the app.
Level 3
Level three we used our knowledge on buttons and text, and created a fill in the blanks. Most people did some sort of 'MadLibs' game, but I did a prank! Now, it has textbox's in the beginning, asking for information, and a submit button. When you press the submit button, it imports the information you entered in, plus preset words I wrote. The picture is what the code looks like, the button below will deploy the app.
Level 4
Level four was very similar to level three, however now you were asked to import numbers. When you type in your numbers, it does math instead of putting it into a sentence. This code used simple addition, but it was very helpful to know for our final deliverable. The picture is what the code looks like, the button below will deploy the app.
Final Deliverable
In my final deliverable, you will see that I used all previous knowledge from the other levels. Not only does it have the startup page, and the page after you enter the information...but once you click the button it imports all of the information you entered into a spreadsheet. This helps you look at your raw data verses your formal data. This part was more challenging, but in the end it will be much better for those who use it. This code was MUCH longer than the others, so the pictures below, are different pieces of the document. To see the photos larger, click on them. The button below will deploy the app.
